The AASF is a joint initiative led by the National Farmers’ Federation and supported by the Australian Government. Development commenced in 2020 and is ongoing, with Australian Farm Institute and CSIRO as primary delivery partners. The AASF aims to address the challenges faced by primary producers in participating in various sustainability-related programs. It is aligned with global initiatives like the Sustainable Development Goals, the Sustainable Agriculture Initiative, Sustainability Assessment of Food and Agriculture systems, and the taskforces for Climate-related and Nature-related Financial Disclosures, with Australian commodity initiatives like Farming for the Future and AgCare also providing input.
The NFF continues to lead the ongoing development and testing of the AASF, joined by project delivery partners the Australian Farm Institute (AFI), CSIRO, KPMG, ERM and Schuster Consulting Group.
