Australian Wool Innovation (AWI) has unveiled its Strategic Plan 2025–2028, setting a clear direction for how the organisation will invest in research, development, marketing, and sustainability to support the long-term profitability and resilience of Australia’s wool industry.
The plan sets out AWI’s core purpose – to enhance the profitability, competitiveness and sustainability of the Australian wool industry, and identifies the key investment priorities in research, development, extension and demand creation on behalf of woolgrowers.
AWI has bold aims, including growing global demand for wool, supporting sustainable and profitable wool-growing, and strengthening supply-chain traceability and product innovation. With the wool industry facing challenges such as input cost pressures, shifting market demand and changing global textile regulation, this Strategic Plan signals a focused response to deliver for growers and connect with emerging global opportunities.
