Australia’s forest and wood-products sector has taken a major step forward with the release of the Timber Fibre Strategy, presenting a long-term vision to build a sustainable, high-value, globally competitive timber-fibre sector.
At its core, the Strategy targets six key priority areas: building sovereign manufacturing capability and capacity, meeting timber-fibre resource demand, maintaining healthy and actively managed forests, attracting and enabling the workforce and other industry enablers, supporting and growing regional communities, and innovating across the timber-fibre value chain.
For producers, processors and supply-chain participants, this Strategy signals that timber fibre is now firmly on the national agenda for sustainability, value-creation and climate-aligned growth.
