The Australian grains industry is intensifying its sustainability efforts with the latest iteration of the Grain Sustainability Framework (GSF), strengthening its governance and ensuring it reflects the shared priorities of the grains industry. The new structure, jointly overseen by GrainGrowers and Grain Producers Australia, is designed to improve collaboration, transparency, and stakeholder engagement. It formalises how industry decisions are made and how progress is measured, helping ensure the framework remains practical for growers while meeting increasing expectations from markets and supply chains.
This governance update reinforces the GSF’s role as a central reference point for demonstrating the sustainability credentials of Australian grain. By coordinating industry input and improving accountability, the framework continues to evolve as an evidence-based tool for communicating the environmental, social, and economic performance of the grains sector both domestically and internationally.
